Mango Sustainability 360 | Transition to a more sustainable store

Mango Sustainability 360

MANGO demonstrates its commitment and transformation towards a more sustainable growth model. This is reflected in its governance strategy, which drives social and environmental responsibility across all operational areas. In line with the company’s global approach to managing its corporate governance strategy, the store and headquarters construction team plays a crucial role in achieving international goals and commitments.

Client’s Objective and Ineria Services

To achieve the objectives in the transformation towards a more sustainable store model, MANGO’s Construction Area team decided to create the MANGO SUSTAINABILITY 360 model, a sustainability framework that encompasses all processes within the area and focuses on key material aspects.

Consulting based on three levels

Ineria Management’s team of sustainability experts assisted MANGO in this critical task. To achieve this, we carried out consulting work based on three levels:

1. Corporate Level: Strategy

Driving sustainability commitments with tailored ESG support and setting goals aligned with their mission, identifying risks and opportunities, and acting on them. Implementing various ESG strategies that engage stakeholders and enhance operations.

2. Store Portfolio Level: Strategy and Operations

Analyze and prioritize the most important ESG frameworks for MANGO strategically. Manage projects to generate the greatest impact on operations, monitoring their progress and results.

3. Store Level: Operations

Increase the value of the stores and demonstrate their commitment to sustainability through services that maximize each store’s performance, achieving the most important sustainability certifications (BREEAM, WELL, LEED) and the highest ratings among their peers.

Key Areas of Focus

In agreement with MANGO’s Construction Area team, the following four work axes were established:

1. MS360

Creation of the sustainable store model:

  1. Creation of the current ESG situation.
  2. Creation of a sustainable store model. Standards aligned with LEED, BREEAM, WELL, EU Taxonomy, and LEVEL(s).
  3. Evaluation of the current state. Audits of two stores to define the 2030 Baseline.

Definition and implementation of the Action Plan. Main parameters:

  • Strategy Development
  • Definition of a roadmap for compliance with standards by 2030.
2. Advisory Services

Definition of the ESG strategy:

  • Double Materiality Analysis
  • Evaluation of the current state
  • Establishment of objectives and goals
  • Strategy Development
  • Presentation Workshop
  • Internal and external communication (including the drafting of the non-financial report).

3. I+D
  • Workshops for updating frameworks and regulations
  • Continuous improvement proposals based on KPI analysis
  • Supplier and customer surveys
  • Ongoing advisory services
4. Training and Benchmarking

Training on relevant ESG aspects for MANGO managers and operational staff. The sustainable store model MS360 (Mango Sustainability 360) was developed based on the following three main pillars:

  • Climate Change: Mitigation and Adaptation
  • Circular Economy: Transition and Growth
  • People: Culture of Health and Well-being

A model was developed by complementing these pillars with additional aspects within the ESG strategy.

The collaboration between MANGO and Ineria

Ineria continues to advise MANGO on the implementation of its action plan throughout the entire lifecycle of its strategy.

“The excellent work by Ineria in creating the MS360 store model has allowed us to define a framework of standards, understand our current state, and establish a short, medium, and long-term action plan to ensure progress and growth towards an increasingly sustainable store model aligned with international standards.”
