In the prestigious Salamanca district of Madrid, this unique and historic building stands at the corner of Velázquez and Goya streets.
This iconic building, owned by Topland Investments, became the centerpiece of an ambitious sustainable renovation project.
The client’s vision
Topland Investments had a clear vision for this building: to transform it into a model of sustainability and energy efficiency.
The project had two main components:
- Four Underground Floors: designated for parking and commercial spaces, with a total built area of approximately 2,377.48 square meters.
- Seven Above-Ground Floors: with a built area of 3,818 square meters. The first two floors were designated for commercial spaces, while the second to sixth floors would house offices.
The project’s sustainability goals were based on energy savings, efficiency, and the use of renewable energy sources. This included achieving LEED certification, an A-rated energy efficiency classification, and an efficient, low-impact maintenance system.
Our approach to achieving a sustainable renovation
Topland Investments selected Ineria Management through a competitive bidding process.
At Ineria, we proposed a comprehensive strategy that included the following services:
- Comprehensive LEED 2009 for Core & Shell Consultancy
- ASHRAE Energy Simulation
The result was a sustainable renovation project that not only transformed the historic building into a modern and functional space but also set a new standard for sustainability in the heart of Madrid.
The combination of smart design, energy efficiency, and sustainable practices makes this building an inspiring example for the future of architecture and construction in the city.
